The meeting witnessed extensive discussions on ways to enhance security and economic cooperation between Syria and Iraq, within the framework of joint efforts to achieve security and stability in the region. President Al-Sharaa emphasized the importance of intensifying coordination between the two countries to address regional challenges, reaffirming Syria's steadfast support for its relationship with Iraq, in a manner that serves the interests of both peoples and contributes to the overall stability of the region. It was also agreed to establish joint committees to monitor the implementation of these deals and to develop an effective operational mechanism for the Al-Tanf border crossing, aiming to facilitate the movement of goods and individuals between the two countries. During the meeting, Mr. Hameed Al-Shatari delivered a message from the Iraqi Prime Minister, Mr. Mohammed Shiaa Al-Sudani, to President Ahmed Al-Sharaa, inviting him to attend the upcoming Arab summit to be held in the capital Baghdad on the seventeenth of next month, reflecting Iraq's keenness for Syria to actively participate in Arab forums and enhance Damascus's role in its regional surroundings. In an atmosphere characterized by warmth and understanding, the meeting concluded with both sides affirming their commitment to further enhance mutual cooperation, open new horizons that benefit the peoples of both countries, and solidify the concept of strategic partnership between Syria and Iraq.
