The Syrian President Emphasizes the Unity of the Territories and Warns Against External Interventions

In a discussion session with the dignitaries of Idlib Governorate, Syrian President Ahmad al-Shara emphasized the "unity of Syrian territories," warning against parties that "are empowered by Israel and find it difficult to achieve their goals."
Al-Shara pointed out that "Syria is facing a battle for unity and it should not be through fighting," noting that some external forces "do not want a strong Syria and are trying to undermine its internal unity."
The president also noted the existence of "desires among some to partition Syria," asserting the impossibility of achieving these plans. In this context, he emphasized the state's commitment to holding accountable those who commit violations in Sweida Governorate, accusing Israel of attempting to "intervene directly to weaken the state."
Regarding the Kurdish file, Al-Shara clarified that some practices of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) on the ground "differ from what is happening in negotiations," considering that there is a "historical agreement" between the two parties. He added: "We are discussing the implementation mechanism, and a few months separate us from implementing the agreement with the SDF on the ground."
It is worth mentioning that the agreement signed between President Al-Shara and SDF leader Mazloum Abdi on March 10 of last year stipulated the integration of civil and military institutions affiliated with the Kurdish self-administration in northeastern Syria into the Syrian state institutions.
