Syrian Presidency Denies Issuing a Decision to Ban Husseini Councils in Sayyida Zainab

Syrian society is suffering from a significant disruption of reliable and accurate information, with rumors that stir controversy or provocation until their veracity is clarified, only for those pages to be replaced by others that incite hatred and spread an inflammatory discourse - Syria urgently needs to curb and combat it.
Last Friday, websites were filled with a flood of news claiming the cancellation of Husseini councils in the shrine of Sayyida Zainab in the countryside of Damascus. The media office of the presidency in Syria denied the issuance of any presidential decree banning the establishment of Husseini councils in the area of Sayyida Zainab in the countryside of Damascus during the month of Muharram.
The Syrian newspaper "Al-Thawra" reported the office's confirmation that what is being circulated on social media regarding this matter is not true.
The media office also called for the necessity of obtaining news from official sources and not succumbing to rumors and misleading information spread on social media.
It is worth noting that there have been no significant changes in the status of the shrine of Sayyida Zainab in the countryside of Damascus since the fall of the ousted regime, as the shrine continues to receive visitors as usual.
Units of the internal security apparatus are responsible for protecting the shrine, amid strict security measures aimed at securing the area and ensuring the safety of visitors.
