The Syrian delegation from the General Federation of Trade Unions signed memoranda of understanding with several Arab labor organizations in Cairo today, Wednesday, including agreements with Bahrain, Kuwait, Libya, Algeria, and Oman. On the sidelines of Syria's participation in the 51st Arab Labor Conference held in Egypt from April 19 to 26, 2025, the Syrian delegation held bilateral meetings with other Arab delegations attending the conference. The President of the General Federation, Fawaz Al-Ahmad, confirmed that during the meeting, consultations were held with the head of the Omani delegation, Nabhan Al-Batashi, to strengthen and deepen the friendship, cooperation, and joint work between the two organizations at various levels nationally, regionally, and globally. According to the memorandum of understanding with the Omani side, both sides affirmed all the rights and gains relevant to the labor categories and trade unions they belong to, positively engaging in all issues concerning them. They also agreed to continue exchanging visits, consultations, and dialogues on labor issues of mutual interest, as well as developing joint training programs and cultural courses between them. The memorandum highlighted the necessity of coordinating positions and opinions in all Arab, regional, and international forums discussing matters concerning the working class in both countries, exchanging media, cultural, trade union, and labor experiences to enhance intellectual and cultural communication among the working class in both countries. It was agreed that the date of signing this cooperation agreement between the two organizations would be recorded as a symbol and solid proof of the bonds of brotherhood, friendship, love, and communication between the working class in both countries. During the meeting, Al-Ahmad commended the efforts of the Director of the Arab Labor Organization, Faiz Ali Al-Mutairi, alongside Syria. He also met with the Senior Energy Advisor in Qatar, Hamad Abdul Wahid Hamadi, and the Assistant Manager of Human Resources for Employee Affairs, Ahmed Shamsan Al-Manai.
