The Syrian Artists Syndicate announces the appointment of Mazen Al-Natour as the new president.

The Syrian Artists Syndicate has issued an official document announcing the appointment of Mazen Al-Natour as the new president, succeeding the former president Mohsen Ghazi, after a period of controversy and confusion surrounding the fate of the syndicate.
The decision, issued by the Cabinet on Tuesday, March 25, dissolved the former Artists Syndicate council and formed a new temporary council led by Al-Natour.
The decision also included the formation of the central council of the syndicate, consisting of: Nour Mahna as vice president, Salah Ta'ma as secretary, Nabil Abu Al-Shammat as treasurer, in addition to the membership of artists: Amal Hawijeh, Mais Harb, Mohammad Haddaqui, Mohammad Al-Rashi, Youssef Abdou, and Jihad Abdou.
The document emerged just one day after a previous announcement by the syndicate describing Mohsen Ghazi as the "current president," sparking controversy over the announcement made on March 5, indicating Al-Natour taking over from Ghazi.
This development comes amid wide debate over the management of the syndicate, especially after the return of many Syrian opposition artists who were in exile, some of whom criticized the performance of the former president Ghazi and the syndicate council, calling for new elections.
Among the opposition artists who returned to Syria after years of exile are: Jamal Suleiman, Yara Sabri, Maher Salibi, Maxim Khalil, Sawsan Arsheed, Abdul Hakim Qutaifan, Mazen Al-Natour, Nour Mahna, and others.
