The Sudanese army enhances its presence in Al-Obeid and monitors the movements of the Rapid Support Forces

The Sudanese armed forces are working to expand the security coverage of Al-Obeid, the capital of North Kordofan state, while continuing field patrol operations towards the "Ab Qud" area west of the city, about 40 kilometers away. These movements came after residential neighborhoods in Al-Obeid were subjected to "random" artillery shelling early Wednesday, August 6, attributed to the Rapid Support Forces, with no civilian casualties reported.
Al-Arabiya confirmed from a military source that the army continues to reinforce its positions, in addition to conducting air sorties to monitor the movements of the Rapid Support Forces, which in turn continue to mobilize their elements across the combat axes in Kordofan.
In West Kordofan state, the "Dar Hamr Emergency Room" _a local human rights observatory_ reported that the Rapid Support Forces executed 27 detainees who were held in the "Abu Khritish" gardens and the ice factory in the city of Al-Nuhud, after their families failed to pay the required ransom, according to the room.
The region is facing a growing humanitarian crisis, with the outbreak of cholera and a severe shortage of medical supplies, amid significant difficulties in delivering aid to the affected areas.
In the Darfur region, the humanitarian suffering is escalating, as nearly half a million civilians in the city of Al-Fasher have been suffering from siege and hunger since May 2024, while the army and joint forces maintain their defensive positions within the city.
The number of cholera deaths in the displacement camps in Darfur has also risen to 197 cases in the past hours, bringing the total number of infections since the outbreak began to more than 4,113 cases.
It is noteworthy that the Rapid Support Forces and their allies control most of Darfur and parts of South Sudan, while the armed forces control the northern and eastern regions, in addition to the capital, Khartoum.
