The regional ministerial meeting on education regarding the return of Syrian refugees began today, Sunday, in the Qatari capital, Doha, with the participation of Syria represented by the Assistant Minister of Education for Educational Affairs, Youssef Anan.

The two-day meeting aims to coordinate efforts to ensure the education of returning Syrian children, guarantee their safe return to schools, overcome the educational and psychological obstacles they faced after years of displacement, support national education systems to address the challenges of return, and enhance cooperation to sustainably reintegrate Syrian students into schools in Syria.

The meeting, sponsored by the Regional Office of UNICEF for the Middle East and North Africa, is also attended by delegations from Jordan, Turkey, Lebanon, Egypt, and Iraq.
