The General Security forces entered the city of Bosra al-Sham in the eastern countryside of Daraa to apprehend the wanted individuals, as part of efforts to enhance security, stability, and enforce the rule of law in the region.
This step came after an agreement between the Syrian Ministry of Defense and the Eighth Brigade leadership, which stipulated the surrender of those involved in the assassination attempt of the leader "Bilal al-Droubi." Sources indicated that the assassination attempt occurred during a security operation carried out by the General Security forces in Bosra al-Sham targeting drug traffickers in the area.
Who is Bilal al-Droubi?
He is a native of Bosra al-Sham in the eastern countryside of Daraa province, serving as the commander of the General Security forces in the city. His name gained prominence after surviving two assassination attempts in a short period in April 2025.
