Syrian President for the Transitional Phase, Ahmed Al-Shar'a, begins an official visit to Qatar today, Tuesday, April 15, the first of its kind since assuming the presidency.

Al-Shar'a is accompanied during the visit by a high-level delegation including Foreign Minister Asaad Al-Shibani and several prominent Syrian officials.

Commenting on the visit, Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad Al-Shibani posted on his "X" platform account: "Today, we accompany His Excellency President Ahmed Al-Shar'a on his first visit to Qatar, the country that stood by the Syrian people from the beginning and remained a steadfast supporter of their just cause."

This visit comes within the framework of enhancing bilateral relations between the two countries, especially in light of Qatar's prominent role in supporting Syrians since the outbreak of the revolution in 2011.

The visit is considered an important step in the Syrian-Qatari relations, especially given Qatar's consistent stance towards the aspirations and legitimate rights of the Syrian people over the past years.
