The Ministry of Justice Continues to Remove Old Travel Ban and Seizure Notices for Syrians

Al-Abd explained that the ministry has successfully removed millions of notices so far, while work continues to resolve the remaining cases, noting that technical challenges, data overlap, the absence of automation in the past, and the loss of many paper files were among the main reasons for the delay, which necessitated the formation of specialized teams in cooperation with the Ministries of Interior and Finance.
He pointed out that the remaining notices relate to criminal cases or civil and administrative matters, emphasizing that current instructions state that incoming travelers should not be detained but rather informed to regularize their legal status, unless there are active lawsuits issued by the public prosecution.
This step comes as part of the Ministry of Justice's efforts to rectify the effects of the repressive policies adopted by the previous regime, where the travel ban system was used as a tool to prevent citizens from leaving the country. This comprehensive processing of pending notices is a fundamental step towards establishing the rule of law and enhancing trust between the citizen and the state.
