The official spokesperson of the Ministry of Interior, Nouraldin Al-Baba, confirmed the establishment of new departments dedicated to receiving complaints, monitoring errors, and holding accountable procedural violations, as part of the ministry's steps to enhance governance and improve institutional performance. He explained that there are five central departments designated for receiving complaints under the Public Relations Management, in addition to launching a special electronic application for complaints soon, facilitating access to relevant authorities and enhancing transparency.
During a press conference, he also mentioned that the ministry has established independent specialized departments including Communications and Networks Management, Information Technology Management, Cybersecurity Management, and Communications Security Management, aiming to keep up with technological advancements, ensure the protection of ministry and citizen data, combat hacking threats and cybercrimes, as well as develop technological applications to enhance services provided to citizens.
Furthermore, he announced the establishment of a new department for prisons and reformatories, aiming to uphold human rights principles, work on rehabilitating prisoners to become active members of society, create a legal environment in prisons that preserves human dignity, respects rights, and contributes to aligning behavior with human and constitutional values.
