The Public Relations Manager at the Ministry of Information, Ali Al-Rifai, revealed details of the recent security escalation in the Jaramana area, indicating that "armed groups operating outside the law attempted to advance towards the city in a military convoy accompanied by a vehicle equipped with a heavy machine gun."

Al-Rifai added that "the security checkpoint in the area intercepted the convoy and prevented it from passing, prompting the groups to open fire on the checkpoint personnel, resulting in an armed clash where three security personnel were injured."

He continued that the militants "later besieged the checkpoint, necessitating an immediate intervention by the public security forces, which managed to break the siege, secure the site, and restore stability later." He also confirmed that the forces "continue to enhance their presence in the area, taking all necessary measures to protect civilians and ensure stability."

In a related context, Al-Rifai pointed out that "the same groups launched a sudden attack last night on several security checkpoints in Ashrafieh Sahenaya, using light machine guns and RPGs, resulting in injuries among the security forces."

He mentioned that "the public security forces repelled the attack and deployed intensively to contain the situation, but some members of the armed groups climbed onto building rooftops and carried out sniping targeting the deployed personnel, resulting in the death of five public security personnel and injuries to others."
