In an important step to ensure a safe and stable educational environment, the Minister of Emergencies and Disasters, Raed Al-Saleh, met yesterday, Tuesday, with the Minister of Education, Dr. Mohammed Abdel Rahman Turkom, to discuss a joint plan aimed at securing the Basic and Secondary Education Certificate exams in various provinces. The meeting, held at the Ministry of Emergencies and Disasters building in the capital Damascus, emphasized the importance of cooperation and coordination between the two ministries to ensure the smooth running of the examination process with the highest levels of safety and organization, focusing on the students' safety and health within the examination centers. The ministers approved a comprehensive plan that includes several key aspects, such as securing the transportation of exam papers through central operations rooms in the provinces, providing specialized emergency and ambulance teams within the centers, as well as implementing comprehensive health sanitation campaigns to prevent any potential health risks. An agreement was also reached to launch a national awareness campaign to promote the concept of school safety, including educating students and educational staff on how to evacuate quickly and deal with natural disasters such as earthquakes, as well as raising awareness about the risks of war remnants. The campaign will also focus on training teachers and school staff in first aid and immediate response to emergencies. In conclusion, the ministers emphasized the importance of continuing coordination and integration between the two ministries to achieve the success of the educational process, and to enhance a culture of safety and security in the school environment, ensuring the protection of students and providing them with the best conditions for studying and succeeding.
