Minister of Health, Dr. Mosaab Al-Ali, met on Tuesday with a delegation from UNICEF led by the Deputy Director of the organization, Zainab Adam, and a representative from the World Bank to coordinate efforts regarding the pandemic fund, resume relations, and discuss their development prospects to contribute to reconstruction and support sustainable development. During the meeting, Minister Al-Ali emphasized the importance of the current phase in advancing the health sector through planning, setting priorities, strategies, and the ministry's commitment to international health regulations, surveillance, and preventing the spread of epidemics. Minister Al-Ali explained that the bank will purchase equipment for laboratories and monitoring to maximize the fund's grant, focusing on patient care and reducing administrative costs. The UNICEF delegation confirmed their cooperation, full coordination, and assistance to the ministry in overcoming challenges facing the health sector to achieve recovery, health financing, and prepare for a comprehensive project aimed at delivering quality services to all citizens across Syrian territories. The meeting was attended by a representative from the World Health Organization, Christina Brathwaite, UNICEF Health Program Director Masoom Shah, Assistant Minister of Health Dr. Hussein Al-Khatib, Director of Planning and International Cooperation Dr. Zuhair Al-Qarad, and several officials.
