Minister of Culture of Syria, Mohammed Yassin Saleh, discussed on Monday the role of the ministry in enhancing the presence of people with disabilities in the cultural scene during a meeting with civil activists Sawsan and Miryana Salamawi. This meeting is part of the ministry's focus on empowering this segment of society, described as "people of determination," and activating their participation in the cultural scene in the new Syria, within the strategic direction of the Ministry of Culture to expand partnerships with civil society actors to ensure the access of culture to all segments of society, including people with disabilities. Sawsan and Miryana are civil activists who have collaborated on initiatives aimed at raising awareness and education, such as the "Meaningful Stories for Deaf Children" project, combining Sawsan's educational expertise with Miryana's artistic creativity to provide innovative educational content that meets the needs of children with hearing disabilities and enhances their communication skills.
