The Lebanese Army Executes a Special Operation in Baalbek: Release of a Kidnapped Person and Death of a Dangerous Suspect

The Lebanese Army Command announced today, Friday, the execution of a special security operation in the city of Baalbek in the east of the country, which resulted in the release of a kidnapped person and the death of a dangerous suspect.
The command's statement mentioned that "the Intelligence Directorate, supported by a unit from the army, raided the area of Jroud Nahle – Baalbek after surveillance and security follow-up operations on the wanted person M.Y., who is accused of kidnapping a Syrian on 21/8/2025, and several involved individuals were arrested and the kidnapped person was freed."
The statement added that "the suspects fired at the army personnel during the operation, which forced the army to respond in kind, resulting in the death of the gang leader H.R. and the injury of one of its members A.R., and weapons, ammunition, and military equipment were seized from them."
The command indicated that "the seized items were handed over and the competent judiciary began investigations with the detainees."
