Food Expo 2025 Kicks Off in Damascus with Participation of 200 Food Companies

The 20th edition of the Arab International Exhibition for Food Industries, Packaging, and Processing, known as "Food Expo 2025," kicked off yesterday evening, Monday, at the Fairgrounds in Damascus, with the wide participation of 200 companies from Syria, Arab countries, and foreign countries, representing over 800 brands in the food industries sector.

The exhibition covers an area of 25,000 square meters, and will continue until June 27th, targeting a wide range of exporters, importers, businessmen, food traders, owners of hospitality and commercial establishments, as well as academics and those interested in the food sector.

Dr. Haitham Al-Jaffan, President of the Arab Federation of Food Industries, emphasized that the exhibition serves as an important annual platform to promote Syrian food products and enhance their presence in regional and international markets, especially with the increasing demand from the Syrian diaspora abroad.

Engineer Mohammad Ayman Al-Mulawi, President of the Damascus Chamber of Industry and its Suburbs, described the exhibition as one of the most prominent specialized events in the region, noting a clear growth in the number of participating companies compared to previous editions, reflecting an improvement in the overall economic climate.

Meanwhile, Vice President of the Chamber of Industry Talal Qal'aji highlighted that the significant participation reflects the growing confidence in Syrian products and the economic openness the country is witnessing post-liberation, affirming that the exhibition represents a real opportunity to enter new markets.

Louay Al-Ashqar, Board Member of the Damascus Chamber of Commerce, stressed the importance of the exhibition in boosting Syrian food exports, pointing out that "Food Expo" has transcended its local character to become an active international platform that supports trade exchange and promotes national products.

Ghiath Shamaa, CEO of Delta Group for Exhibitions, the organizing entity, announced that this edition features direct business meetings and investment sessions between manufacturers and importers, in addition to showcasing the latest packaging and processing technologies, within a more open economic environment following the easing of sanctions.

The exhibition also includes a number of Turkish companies specializing in food industries, alongside major Syrian companies producing food products, equipment, and raw materials, in a clear message on Damascus' return as a regional hub for specialized exhibitions.
