The large container ship "CMA CGM SAHARA" arrived at Tartous port today, Tuesday, loaded with 45 containers containing goods and UN aid in its first visit since the port's rehabilitation.
In a statement to SANA, Mazen Aloush, Director of Relations at the General Authority for Land and Maritime Ports, explained that the ship's visit to Tartous port is a significant event as it is the first ship of this type and size to reach the port, with a length of up to 200 feet, loaded with various goods and UN aid.
Aloush emphasized that this operation reflects a change in the maritime transit map, as receiving ships of this size and type at Tartous port is a practical step towards repositioning Syria as an important logistics center in the Eastern Mediterranean.
