The Chief of the Israeli Army Staff, Eyal Zamir, announced today, Tuesday, that the army has reached a "critical phase" in the recent military operations.
He emphasized that the comprehensive campaign against Iran is not over yet, stressing that Israel remains committed to a long-term strategy to confront Iranian threats.
Zamir stated in a statement issued by the army that the current priority is shifting towards the Gaza Strip, where the army is focusing on the retrieval of Israeli hostages held by Hamas, in addition to a strategic goal of "dismantling Hamas rule" in the region, which the army considers a major threat to Israeli security.
He added that all areas of Israel will transition from today at 20:00 local time to a full activity level without restrictions, indicating a high security alert and the army's readiness to face any potential escalation in any of the areas, especially with the ongoing tensions in Gaza and the West Bank.
At the same time, Zamir affirmed that Israel will not abandon its strategic goal of confronting Iranian influence in the region, especially in Syria and Lebanon, in addition to the Iranian nuclear program, which Tel Aviv considers an existential threat.
He pointed out that the campaign against Iran represents a key focus in future military plans, with continued coordination with allies to ensure dismantling Tehran's military and technological capabilities.
