The Israeli army acknowledges shelling around Nasser Hospital and announces an investigation after civilian casualties

The Israeli army announced today, Monday, that it carried out an airstrike near the Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Younis, confirming that the Chief of Staff ordered a preliminary investigation into the incident "as soon as possible."
The army stated in an official statement: "We regret any harm caused to uninvolved individuals, and we affirm that we do not specifically target journalists, and we work to minimize collateral damage as much as possible while ensuring the safety of our soldiers."
This statement comes hours after a strike targeted the upper floor of Nasser Hospital, resulting in the death of 19 people, including 4 journalists, and injuring others.
In contrast, the Medical Relief Society in Gaza emphasized that "there are no safe areas in the sector," accusing Israel of repeatedly and deliberately targeting hospitals and health centers, endangering the lives of civilians and medical staff.
For its part, health and humanitarian organizations called on the international community to take urgent action to protect civilians and journalists, while local rescue teams continue their operations amid extremely difficult humanitarian conditions.
