Judges at the International Criminal Court today, Wednesday, rejected Israel's request to cancel the arrest warrants issued against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Ya'akov Galant while the court considers Israeli appeals regarding its jurisdiction over the war in Gaza.
In a decision published on the court's website, the judges also rejected an Israeli request to suspend the broader investigation being conducted by the International Criminal Court into alleged atrocities committed in Palestinian territories.
The International Criminal Court had issued arrest warrants on November 21 against Netanyahu, Galant, and Hamas leader Mohammed Diab Ibrahim Al-Masri, known as Mohammed Al-Daif, on charges of committing war crimes and crimes against humanity during the war in Gaza.
