The International Atomic Energy Agency warns against targeting nuclear facilities and calls for self-restraint.

The Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, Rafael Grossi, expressed his deep concern over the recent escalation between Israel and Iran, emphasizing that nuclear facilities "should never be attacked."
Grossi's statement came in a statement issued today, Friday, June 13, urging "all parties to exercise maximum restraint to avoid further escalation."
Grossi added: "This development is extremely worrying... I reiterate that any action that threatens the safety and security of nuclear facilities may have dangerous repercussions on the citizens in Iran, the region, and beyond."
On the other hand, the Iranian Atomic Energy Organization criticized what it described as the "silence" of the International Atomic Energy Agency following Israeli strikes on Iran, stating in a statement that this silence constitutes "collaboration with Israel." The Iranian organization also accused the International Atomic Energy Agency of being "defeated due to its unjustifiable failures."
The International Atomic Energy Agency later responded to these criticisms by reaffirming its commitment to protecting nuclear facilities, emphasizing that these facilities "should never be attacked."
This escalation comes amid international concerns about the repercussions of any attacks on nuclear infrastructure in the region.
