Gaza occupies the most prominent file in newspaper headlines and news bulletins, as the crimes there have exceeded all bounds of logic and reason, and the world is watching live broadcasts of all forms of death and tragedies. In light of the magnitude of the crime and the greatness of the rooted humanity, there is no truth that journalism can convey; death is the only truth, and it may often be a hunter of its messenger.

Hundreds of journalists have been targeted in the Gaza Strip by Israeli forces since the war began, with entire press offices and teams being affected, and some have even turned into a school that adds to everything a journalist can learn from references and research, while some have become the news themselves.

The initiative "The Right to Coverage" has been signed by more than 100 journalists, photographers, and war correspondents from around the world, demanding the immediate and unmonitored entry of foreign journalists into the Gaza Strip to independently cover the Israeli genocide.

The demands state that Gaza is the most urgent case, yet it is part of a broader pattern that threatens press freedom around the world. Defending the freedom to cover in Gaza is a defense of press freedom everywhere.”
