After years of interruption, today, Sunday, the first flight of the Emirati company "Flydubai" arrived at Damascus International Airport. The General Authority of Civil Aviation and Air Transport announced through its Telegram channel that "Flydubai" has started operating direct flights from Dubai to Damascus, as part of enhancing regional connectivity, after meeting all operational standards of Damascus International Airport in cooperation with the relevant authorities. The Authority noted that at the forefront of the flight's reception was the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to Syria, Hassan Ahmed Al Shihhi, accompanied by an official delegation, in addition to the Deputy Head of the Syrian General Authority of Civil Aviation, Abdul Bari Al-Saj. It is worth mentioning that Flydubai announced on May 22nd that it will resume its direct flights to Damascus starting this June.
