Today, Wednesday, the final report of European inspectors investigating the European sanctions imposed on Iraqi Airways was issued.

A decision was made to renew the ban for six months, meaning Iraqi Airways will not be able to operate flights to European Union countries.

The report revealed that all flights of Iraqi Airways to European countries have been banned for a long time due to safety requirements deficiencies, non-compliance with international civil aviation guidelines and standards, poor airport conditions, and other reasons.

The inspectors stated that despite Iraq being granted many authorities and exceptions for most civil aviation contracts and projects, reinstating the former director of the airline, spending huge amounts of money, signing various contracts that the Integrity Commission and Parliament are investigating, Iraq failed to convince the European inspectors to lift the ban on Iraqi Airways.

The report highlighted mismanagement, widespread corruption, and signing contracts worth hundreds of millions of dollars under the guise of lifting European sanctions, indicating that the extension of European Union sanctions will impact Iraq's reputation, as its airlines were among the best in the world.
