The Chief Sharia Judge in Damascus has issued a public invitation to sight the crescent moon of the blessed month of Ramadan at sunset today, which falls on the 29th of Sha'ban in the year 1446 AH, corresponding to the 28th of February in the year 2025 AD.

According to a publication by the Ministry of Justice in the Interim Syrian Government on its Telegram channel, the Sharia Judge has requested that anyone who sights the moon should refer to the nearest Sharia court to testify, as this is a collective obligation on Muslims.

The Judge emphasized that the Sharia courts will remain open until late at night to receive testimonies on this matter, and provided contact information for the Sharia court in Damascus at phone number (2213452) and fax number (2224062) for the issuance of certification exclusively by that court.
