The UK representative to Syria, Ann Snow, stated via the "X" platform, commenting on the visit of British Foreign Secretary David Lame to Syria today, Saturday, that it is an important step in continuing to strengthen the relationship between the UK and Syria and looks forward to continuing discussions in Damascus.
The British government announced today that Foreign Secretary David Lame visited Syria to renew diplomatic relations between the two countries, declaring an additional humanitarian aid package for Syrians worth £94.5 million.
The government said in a statement on its website: "After eight months of the Assad regime's collapse, the UK officially restored its diplomatic relations with the Syrian government following Foreign Secretary David Lame's visit to Damascus today".
