The British Special Envoy to Syria, Anna Snow, has called for a de-escalation of the situation in southern Syria following the recent security escalation in the province of Al-Suwayda, which has resulted in casualties and injuries due to clashes between lawless groups and the residents of Al-Suwayda.
In a post on her "Ex" platform (formerly Twitter), Snow expressed deep concern about the ongoing developments, confirming that the British government is closely monitoring the situation. She added:
"We urge all parties in Syria to de-escalate and take immediate steps to protect civilians".
Over the past two days, Al-Suwayda province has witnessed armed clashes between lawless groups and the residents, resulting in casualties and injuries. This prompted the intervention of forces from the Syrian ministries of interior and defense, which entered the affected villages and towns to end the clashes and protect the residents and their properties.
