Damascus Attorney General discusses cooperation with Swedish Ambassador on public prosecution level between Syria and Sweden

The Attorney General of Damascus, Hassan Al-Turba, received today, Wednesday, the Chargé d'Affaires of the Swedish Embassy, Ms. Jessica Safardestrom, as part of enhancing cooperation between the public prosecution in Syria and the state of Sweden.

The Syrian Ministry of Justice stated via Telegram that during the meeting, ways to support mutual cooperation between Syria and Sweden at the public prosecution level were discussed, especially in files related to international legal relations, coordination in files of transitional justice, prosecuting and pursuing war criminals outside Syria.

According to the ministry, activating communication channels with the public prosecution authority in Sweden was also discussed, supporting the Ministry of Justice in its efforts within judicial reform, reconstruction, and infrastructure rehabilitation, and discussing prospects of cooperation with Sweden in the areas of judicial training and legal expertise exchange.
