Both sides emphasized the importance of taking tangible steps to de-escalate and create conditions for a phase of sustainable stability.
The two parties also discussed practical mechanisms to enhance national integration within a unified Syria, focusing on building a peaceful, prosperous, inclusive, and stable future for all Syrians, without exception.
The talks confirmed that the current stage requires strengthening national unity, and that the moment is favorable for prioritizing dialogue and joint action over division and conflict.
The statement concluded by affirming that the US Embassy is committed to supporting efforts in the interest of the unity and stability of Syria, and that Ambassadors Barak and Abdi agreed that the time has come to unify efforts for a unified Syria for all Syrians.
