Tensions in Latakia as General Security asserts control.

After the tensions witnessed in Latakia province in the last hours of Wednesday, the Director of Public Security in Latakia province, Major "Mustafa Kanaifati," announced that security units set up a checkpoint in the Qardaha area. However, "groups affected by the security measures tried to obstruct the checkpoint and attack it," causing chaos and aggression towards the city's police station.

Kanaifati added: "We are currently taking necessary measures to ensure security and stability."

This is part of the ongoing efforts to control the security of the region and safeguard the safety and properties of the residents in Latakia province.

The residents of the "Sheikh Daher" neighborhood took to the city streets in support of the public security efforts to control tensions in the province.

An explosion sound in "Bena Al-Shaweesh" street in Latakia raised fears among the residents, later revealed to be caused by an electrical transformer explosion.
