Tehran Warns Senior Officials Against Using 'WhatsApp'

After the security breaches in Iran, which revealed the fragility and weakness of its cyber system, the General Manager of the Technology Development Office at the Iranian Ministry of Communications emphasized that senior officials in the state and the army should not use the 'WhatsApp' application at all, pointing out that there is no objection for the public to use it, directing a message to the people not to exchange family or sensitive information through it.
During his appearance on a TV program broadcast last night, Sunday, he warned that 'senior officials in the state and the army should not use WhatsApp at all, and of course there is no problem with its use by citizens, but caution should be taken.'
Despite not considering the use of citizens of this application as prohibited, he emphasized the need to refrain from exchanging family or sensitive information through it, as reported by a local channel.
