The head of the Press Affairs Department at the Syrian Ministry of Information stated today, Thursday, that cooperation is underway with the Ministry of Interior to issue electronic permits equipped with a barcode specifically for Syrian journalists. Security personnel will be provided with barcode scanners to identify journalistic permit details during field coverage. Press cards issued by the Journalists Union will be shared with the Ministry of Interior to facilitate journalists' access to designated sites. Additionally, a joint operations room between the Ministries of Information and Interior is being established to facilitate coverage and prevent issues. The director announced the organization of workshops between journalists and security officials to coordinate work mechanisms and enhance field understanding, emphasizing the necessity for journalists to obtain precise work permits that clearly define their tasks to ensure smooth media operations.
