The Assistant Minister of Awqaf for Religious Call Affairs, Diaa Al-Din Barsha, revealed the ministry's preparations to hold a "major conference" dedicated to the reconstruction of destroyed and damaged mosques in all Syrian provinces.
Barsha explained in a special statement to the "SANA" agency that "work is currently underway to prepare the necessary studies to calculate the full costs of reconstruction, including documenting the sites through photography and comprehensive media coverage of this matter".
The assistant minister added: "We will launch the conference with significant mobilization and preparation, to work on rebuilding all the destroyed mosques and houses of God," noting that this major national project will be implemented in cooperation with government bodies and specialized ministries with expertise in this field.
This ambitious initiative to restore and reconstruct what has been destroyed of mosques that have been subjected to destruction and vandalism in various provinces aims to revive their central spiritual and social role in the community.
