The Syrian Interior Ministry Denies Allegations of Displacement of Christians in Qusayr and Clarifies the Background of Arrests

The spokesperson for the Syrian Ministry of Interior, Nour al-Din al-Baba, denied today, Sunday, the validity of what some suspicious pages circulated on social media regarding alleged arrest campaigns targeting members of the Christian community in the Qusayr area of Homs province, falsely claiming that there was a displacement campaign against them.

Al-Baba explained that the ministry, based on the principle of transparency and credibility, verified the names mentioned in those posts, and it became clear that the detainees were not only from the Christian community, but the investigations included individuals accused of committing serious criminal offenses, including murder, rape, and forgery of property records dating back to the previous regime, based on their confessions and under the supervision of the civil judiciary and the public prosecution.

Al-Baba reiterated his call for citizens to be cautious in sharing information and not to be drawn into rumors that aim to incite discord and undermine community security, emphasizing the importance of obtaining news from official and reliable sources.
