The Syrian Health Minister, Dr. Moayad Al-Ali, held a meeting today, Thursday, with the Saudi Ambassador to Syria, Dr. Faisal Al-Miqbel, during which the two parties discussed ways of common cooperation in the health sector, in a step that reflects the gradual return of Arab-Syrian coordination in services and infrastructure.

The discussions included vital areas, notably the rehabilitation of damaged hospitals, addressing the shortage of medical equipment, renovating health centers, as well as enhancing cooperation in exchanging experiences and research, joint training, and developing the healthcare infrastructure in Syria.

Both sides emphasized, during the meeting, the depth of the fraternal relations between the two countries, emphasizing the importance of coordinating efforts and building bridges of communication to advance the health sector and pave the way for sustainable cooperation that serves the needs of the Syrian people.

In a related context, Dr. Al-Ali explained that the Ministry of Health currently prioritizes combating drugs, calling for broader cooperation that includes areas of awareness, treatment, and rehabilitation of recovering addicts, praising the Saudi experience in this field.

In turn, Ambassador Al-Miqbel expressed the Kingdom's readiness to provide full support to Syria, whether through technical expertise or support for health projects, affirming that the health sector will witness a qualitative leap in light of this cooperation.
