Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Launches New App for Consular Appointment Booking

Azzo Al-Mohammad, Director of the Information Systems and Digital Transformation Department at the ministry, clarified that the new application replaces the previous platform that was developed during the former regime, which suffered from security and organizational flaws that allowed for the exploitation and sale of appointments using "bots", depriving citizens of their rights.
Al-Mohammad indicated that the ministry's team worked on developing a digital system that ensures the transparent distribution of appointments and prevents any manipulation, adding that the first trial version of the application will be launched at the Embassy of the Syrian Arab Republic in Beirut, in preparation for its generalization to all Syrian embassies and missions around the world.
He also confirmed that the application will later be used as a platform to provide additional electronic consular services, aiming to reduce the need to visit embassies and expedite transactions through the automation of procedures.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized its commitment to continue developing its digital services and providing fair, transparent, and rapid solutions for Syrian citizens abroad, in line with the requirements of the era and digital transformation.
