Director of Syrian Airlines, Samih Arabi, confirmed that the institution will complete the full disbursement of refunds related to old bookings within a maximum period of 60 days. Arabi explained that the institution has so far refunded over 6 billion Syrian pounds to passengers during the past period, representing approximately 22% of the total refund value. He also mentioned that an additional approximately 4.8 billion Syrian pounds will soon be refunded as part of a plan to settle the amounts due to citizens affected by flight suspensions in recent years. Arabi further stated that the institution is currently working on increasing the number of operational aircraft to five within three months as part of a fleet expansion and operational efficiency improvement plan. He added that Syrian Airlines currently operates four daily flights covering several important destinations including Sharjah, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam, Doha, and Kuwait. Arabi pointed out that Libya will be the next destination to join the flight network soon, with ongoing efforts to resume the air route to the Arab Republic of Egypt, despite some challenges described as "beyond the capabilities of Syrian Airlines." This announcement comes at a time when the Syrian aviation sector is witnessing vigorous efforts to recover and rise again, coinciding with the start of the 22nd edition of the international construction exhibition "Buildex" at the new exhibition city in Damascus, and the government's continuous efforts to support service sectors.
