Syria... "The White Helmets" dissolve themselves and fall under the Ministry of Emergency Situations in the government.

Arab media outlets have reported that the Syrian Civil Defense organization, known as the "White Helmets," has decided to dissolve itself and join the Ministry of Emergencies and Disasters in the Syrian government.
The "White Helmets" organization began its activities in Syria in early 2012, following about a year after the start of the peaceful popular movement demanding change in Syria.
As violence escalated in the country and government services were withdrawn from areas outside the control of the ousted regime, individual initiatives led by civilians began with the aim of rescuing and aiding victims of shelling out of societal responsibility and human instinct. These individuals began carrying out simple rescue and relief operations to assist their local communities.
Following these developments, there emerged a need for more organized volunteer efforts, and these activities began to crystallize until the official establishment of the Syrian Civil Defense organization in 2013. The organization included volunteers from various backgrounds and affiliations.
The main goal of the organization was to fill the gap left by the withdrawal of official state agencies, especially firefighting and healthcare services.
