The Syrian state news agency (SANA) revealed the signing of a strategic agreement between the General Authority for Syrian Ports and Maritime Transport and 'DP World', with a value of up to 800 million US dollars, aimed at developing and enhancing the infrastructure of ports and logistical services in the country.

The agreement was signed in the presence of the Syrian President, Ahmad Al-Sharaa, in a move that is considered one of the most prominent investment initiatives in the maritime transport sector in recent years, amid the Syrian government's efforts to improve the efficiency of ports and enhance their competitiveness at the regional level.

The agreement includes the implementation of integrated development projects in a number of Syrian ports, in addition to updating operational systems and improving logistical services, to facilitate trade movement and support economic activity in the coming period.
