The Syrian Kickboxing, Muay Thai, and Mixed Martial Arts Federation is participating in the World Club Kickboxing Cup organized by the International Federation "WAKO" in Budapest, Hungary, from June 12 to 15. Syria will be represented by eight players: Mohammad Rahal, David Kalinyuk, Mohammad Askak, Abdul Rahman Al-Marhaj, Abbas Hatem, Osama Qasem, Ryan Al-Kakouni, and Ehsan Allah Marouf. The Syrian international referees Khalid Hajji and Rateb Hatahat are also participating in managing the matches, reflecting Syria's distinguished technical presence in the competitions and organization. According to "SANA," the president of the federation, Sariya Al-Jazairi, stated that the World Cup is one of the strongest and most important tournaments on the International Federation's agenda, attracting annually over 2500 athletes from about 40 countries, with expectations of an increased number of participants this year, emphasizing the importance of Syrian participation in this global sports event. Al-Jazairi explained that this participation provides a significant incentive for players to gain experience and increase their chances of competing in the official World Teams Championship, which will be held in Abu Dhabi in November.
