Tartous port has started loading two ships carrying large quantities of Syrian phosphate, the first weighing 44,000 tons, and the second 33,000 tons, on their way to Romania and Egypt, as part of a regular export plan reflecting the revival of the mineral resources sector.
According to official data, the total phosphate exports since the fall of the former regime have reached around 230,000 tons, indicating the recovery of vital facilities and enhancing their contribution to the national economy and the country's trade balance.
