Syria: A mass grave containing the remains of 9 people found north of Jableh

A mass grave was found on a farm belonging to a former pilot in the Syrian regime's army, north of the city of Jableh, according to an official announcement from the internal security leadership in Latakia province.
This discovery came based on security information received by the information branch in the province, prompting the specialized units from the internal security directorate in the Jableh area to move to the specified site near the village of Bustan al-Basha.
The head of internal security in the province, Brigadier General Abdul Aziz Hilal Ahmad, stated in a statement reported by the Ministry of Interior via its channel on Telegram that: "Based on security information received by the information branch in the province, indicating the existence of a mass grave near the village of Bustan al-Basha north of Jableh, the specialized units from the internal security directorate in the Jableh area moved to the site, where a large pit was found inside a farm owned by a certain Hassan Youssef Younis, a former pilot general in the fallen Assad regime."
Following the discovery of the site, civil defense teams retrieved the bodies, which numbered nine. Meanwhile, the criminal investigations department immediately began its tasks, as Brigadier General Ahmad indicated that the teams "started the criminal investigations department's tasks in documenting evidence and collecting necessary information under the supervision of the relevant security authorities, in order to complete the investigations according to legal procedures."
The head of internal security emphasized the seriousness of the security authorities in following up on the case and continuing to work with precision and responsibility in monitoring such issues, ensuring the revelation of the truths and establishing security and stability in Latakia province.
Investigations are still ongoing to identify the victims and the circumstances surrounding this crime.
