According to Reuters, European traders reported that the Syrian General Establishment for Grains has purchased an unspecified amount of soft wheat flour in an international tender for around 100,000 tons. This deal is believed to be the first of its kind since the fall of the previous Syrian regime. Sources indicated that the purchased quantity could reach about 100,000 tons, with expectations that the wheat will be sourced from the Black Sea region. The initial estimates suggest that the price per ton was approximately $260, including costs and shipping expenses. Sources noted that "the purchase has been made, but the exact quantity is unknown," pointing out that "offers have been submitted by companies in the Middle East and the Black Sea region, despite the financial uncertainty in Syria following the change in government."
