Syria and the International Organization for Migration Discuss Supporting the Return of Refugees and Strengthening Local Administrations

During the meeting, Minister Anjarani emphasized the importance of continuing to implement the strategy for rehabilitating cities and affected areas, and building local institutions capable of ensuring the stability of returnees and enhancing their resilience, affirming that transitional justice represents the cornerstone of this national path.
For their part, the representatives of the organization expressed their readiness to provide technical support in areas such as community planning, early warning, and addressing the impacts of climate change, affirming their commitment to supporting the Syrian government in its efforts to alleviate the suffering of citizens and enhance local response.
The two parties agreed on the necessity of adopting a comprehensive approach that responds to the basic needs of returnees, including security, public services, livelihoods, property documentation, and ensuring access to rights, which contributes to consolidating social stability and achieving sustainable development.
This meeting comes as part of the Syrian government's direction towards expanding its effective international partnerships and reaffirming its commitment to the national recovery path according to a comprehensive developmental vision.
