An NGO based in Switzerland requested authorities on Friday to investigate the activities of a Gaza relief organization, supported by the United States, that plans to oversee a new aid distribution model in the Palestinian sector opposed by the United Nations.

The United Nations stated that the relief organization's aid plan is neither fair nor neutral, and it will lead to more displacement and harm thousands of people, a situation the international body will not participate in.

Reuters quoted the Gaza relief organization as saying that it "strictly adheres" to humanitarian principles and will not support any form of forced civilian transfers. The organization had expressed hope to begin operations in Gaza by the end of this month.

Israel allowed the limited resumption of aid delivery this week after blocking all supplies from entering Gaza since March 2.

Trials International, an NGO based in Switzerland, stated on Friday that it had submitted two requests to Swiss authorities to investigate the activities of the Geneva-registered Gaza relief organization.

The organization submitted a request to the Swiss Federal Supervisory Authority for Foundations on May 20 and another request to the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs on May 21 to investigate whether the Gaza relief organization complies with Swiss law and international humanitarian law.
