Sulaf Fawakherji: "Hezbollah killed terrorists, not Syrians... and the opposition is armed, not peaceful."
Syrian actress Slaf Fawakherji expressed fiery opinions about Syria and its relationship with Maher al-Assad in her first statements since the fall of Bashar al-Assad's regime.
The Syrian actress spoke about the situation in her country on a talk show, stating that "the revolution lasted only 5 days and then turned into armed opposition," noting that "no one is preventing her from entering her country."
She considered that "the revolution was justified only in the first ten days but did not continue, rather it was manipulated by religious agendas."
She believed that it was not peaceful opposition but armed opposition from all nationalities."

Furthermore, Fawakherji pointed out that "it is the state's right from a political perspective to defend its national security like other countries," adding "Syrian blood is my blood, and those who died, their mothers are my mothers."
She also stated that Hezbollah members did not kill Syrians, but rather killed terrorists.
Fawakherji justified the presence of Russian and Iranian elements in Syria as "allies of the Syrian state," pointing out that "the Lebanese Hezbollah liberated 'Sednaya and the nuns in Maaloula'," describing its former leader Hassan Nasrallah as "more than a religious figure, he is a leader of a nation."
Regarding her relationship with "Maher al-Assad," Fawakherji denied any connection between them, explaining that it was "just rumors because she supports the regime."
She said she met him once in her life and he was respectful," clarifying that she "met him due to a technical issue but he did not help her solve this problem," adding "maybe he doesn't have the ability to do so."
On the other hand, social media users launched a severe attack on the Syrian star, describing her as a "thug and insolent," calling for the punishment of anyone who doubts or denies Assad's crimes.
While others considered her "elegant, educated, and a free lady," with one writing: "When beauty, understanding, lack of hypocrisy, and speaking the truth in the face of falsehood come together, you get Slaf."
It is worth mentioning that Slaf Fawakherji, a staunch supporter of the Syrian regime, left Syria after the fall of the Assad regime in December 2024, to Egypt with her family.
