Emirati diplomatic advisor Anwar Gargash praised the meeting between the President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and the Syrian President Ahmed Al Shar'a, describing it as "successful by all measures," indicating the enhancement of bilateral relations between the two countries.

Successful meeting reflects UAE's commitment to support Syria

Gargash, in a post on his official "X" platform account, described the meeting as "fruitful and important," noting the UAE's keenness to support the "modern state-building process in Syria." He added, "A stable and prosperous Syria is a fundamental pillar for the region's future, and the UAE is committed to supporting this path," considering the distinguished Syrian community in the UAE as a witness to the depth of relations between the two peoples.

Gratitude message from the Syrian President to the UAE

In turn, Syrian President Ahmed Al Shar'a expressed his gratitude to Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, appreciating "the generosity of hospitality and brotherly sentiments" he experienced during his official visit to Abu Dhabi.

Al Shar'a said in a statement issued by the Syrian Presidency: "I extend my sincere thanks to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed for the warm reception and the keenness to enhance bilateral relations in various fields," praying to God to "maintain security, stability, and prosperity in the UAE."

Emirati confirmation of support for Syrian stability

Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, during his reception of the Syrian President at Al Shati Palace in Abu Dhabi, emphasized the UAE's commitment to supporting Syria in facing current challenges and assisting in reconstruction efforts.

Bin Zayed stressed "the UAE's firm stance on the unity and sovereignty of Syrian territories," expressing his support for a transitional process that ensures stability in Syria and the security of its people.

Visit completes the regional openness path towards Syria

President Al Shar'a's visit, his first to the UAE since taking office, comes within the framework of the increasing Arab openness towards Damascus, following previous visits to Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Jordan, and Turkey.

Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad Al Shibli stated during the visit: "We carry the aspirations of the Syrian people to enhance cooperation with the UAE, serving the interests of both countries and strengthening their historical ties."

Emirati call on the international community to support Syrians

In a related context, the UAE renewed its call on the international community to intensify humanitarian and political efforts to support the Syrian people, considering that "stability in Syria is essential for regional security." It also emphasized the importance of a comprehensive political process that fulfills the aspirations of Syrians for a dignified life and sustainable development.
