Russian news agency "RIA Novosti" quoted the spiritual leader of the Druze community in Israel, Mufak Tarif, as saying today, Saturday, that the ceasefire agreement in Sweida must hold and it is time for all Syrians to unite.
Tarif added: "Some Syrians crossed into Israel after massacres in Sweida, and we hope everyone respects the ceasefire."
He said: "We support any initiative that brings peace in Sweida," and continued: "We hope the new Syrian government will accommodate all its citizens, especially minorities, and show them love."
Tarif also confirmed that there are "talks mediated by the US between the Israeli leadership and the Syrian leadership to bring peace to the region."
