The office of the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu issued a statement today, Friday, stating that "the Prime Minister had a conversation with the spiritual leader of the Druze community in Israel, Sheikh Mowafaq Tarif."

The statement added: "Tarif expressed his gratitude to the Prime Minister for his decisive directives to protect the Druze community in Syria during the past few days," referring to the bombing of the presidential palace compound in Damascus as a "deterrent message to the Syrian regime."

The statement continued: "Netanyahu reaffirmed Israel's commitment to protecting the Druze in Syria, emphasizing at the same time the necessity for the Druze community in Israel to abide by the law and not violate it."

Netanyahu stressed that Israel is a state of law, and there can be no tolerance for any violations or acts of violence, emphasizing that this is a non-negotiable demand.

According to the statement, Tarif confirmed that all Druze leaders condemn any acts of violence or legal violations, and that the community will continue to abide by the law in Israel.

Israel bombed the vicinity of the presidential palace in the capital Damascus today, Friday, in a blatant violation of international law.

This led to the Syrian presidency issuing a statement today condemning these attacks.
